GET a box of tissues ready because this marriage proposal is going to warm your heart. Or perhaps not.
TMZ Sports has published details of Floyd Mayweather’s proposal to former girlfriend Shantel Jackson and it’s not exactly what fairytales are made of.
Not only did the world’s richest athlete propose to Jackson via text — at the same time he also demanded she improve her attitude.
This is the error-riddled text — or perhaps what is better described as a contract offer — Mayweather sent, according to court documents accessed by the website.
“This is what I offer to you. Let’s get married move in together you can go back in forth to L.A and stay at the condo,” Mayweather wrote.
“I promise I will get you in 3 A list movies this year and I’m willing to go to counselling to make us work and you can get the stuff you want and I’m willing to change but I need you to have a better attitude.”
Jackson, who met Mayweather when she was a 21-year-old hostess in Atlanta, has filed a lawsuit in a Los Angeles court against the boxing champ for assault, battery, defamation, invasion of privacy and harassment.
The pair dated for several years but split around April, 2014, after Mayweather accused Jackson of aborting their twin babies.
When launching the suit late last year, Jackson listed a series of incidents where she claimed Mayweather abused her, including pointing a gun at her foot and asking which toe she wanted him to shoot.
“There was a point in my relationship with Floyd that I thought we would be together forever. I loved him so much and I made sure that I took care of him the best I knew how,” Jackson said.
“I tried my best to make our relationship work by compromising and going to relationship counselling, but I finally realised that there was no hope and our relationship could not continue...
“I have tried everything that I could and I have given Floyd every opportunity to do the right thing. Unfortunately, he has refused every opportunity to make things right. It is with a heavy heart that I finally realised that the only way to set the record straight to achieve justice for what he has done to me is through the filing of this lawsuit.”
Jackson is now dating rapper Cornell Iral Haynes, better known as Nelly.
