There are more than 20 Accredited universities in Nigeria, which consist of both Private Universities, Federal Universities, and State Universities in Nigeria which each of them offering various courses. Each University in Nigeria offers more than fifty (50) courses approved by NNC. But despite offering so many courses, there are many courses offered which are not necessarily useful considering that Nigeria happens to be among the third world countries (Developing Countries), and have not advanced enough to require the services of those courses. President Buhari allegedly paid 2million Euros for release of 82 Chibok girls – Report

A report released by the BBC has claimed that the Federal Government paid the sum of two million euros to Boko Haram to secure the release of the 82 school girls abducted by the Islamic terrorist group in 2014 in Chibok, Borno State. The report also disclosed that the five Boko Haram Commanders who were swapped for the girls alongside the alleged sum were specialist in bomb making. The Federal government has, however, not denied claims that there was negotiation with the sect members for the release of the girls. The report reads in part, “The release of the 82 girls came with a price. Five senior Boko Haram militants were moved from a high security unit to be driven to freedom. UNILORIN To Admit 10,000 Out Of 104,000 Candidates In 2017/2018

The Vice Chancellor of university of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has disclosed that about 104,000 candidates have applied to study in the university for the 2017/2018 academic session through in the ongoing 2017 JAMB UTME. He disclosed this at the 40th anniversary of the Department of History and International Studies of the university. According to him, this number is outrageous as only 10,000 of the candidates will be admitted by the university in 2017/2018 session.
